ADS 1969 Camaro

The After Dark Speed 69 Camaro test car, known as ā€œThe Black Carā€, was initially a test to see how capable a traditional build 1st-Gen Camaro could be.  The design, fab, & paint process was done in Ryan’s house garage and then moved to what is now the After Dark Speed shop for final assembly.  This was the first car ever built in the current After Dark Speed shop.  The car features a radically new front suspension design with an unprecedented level of geometry adjustment in a street car suspension and is designed to work with the stock 1st-Gen Camaro front subframe.  The car still uses the original style leaf spring rear suspension with a custom design rear sway bar.  The factory tubs are still used with 275 tires on all 4 corners.  The car is an extremely competitive autocross machine & has out-performed many Pro-Touring Camaro’s with double & triple the money invested in them.  There are many other very unique ā€œone-offā€ features and designs through-out this car and it continues to be test bed for possible future 1st-Gen Camaro products.
